The project is aimed at introducing ecological farming and crop diversification in agro pastoral and riverine zones of the project target areas (Jalalaqsi District). Agro-ecological farming practices for the local farmers are also aimed to produce significant amounts of food, which valorise in the best way of ecological processes, and ecosystem services in integrating them as fundamental elements in the development of the practices, and not simply rely on ordinary techniques, such as chemical fertilizer and synthetic pesticide application, and it is contributing to improving the sustainability of agro ecosystem while based on various ecological process and ecosystem services such as nutrient cycling, biological Nitrogen-fixation, natural regulation of pests, soil and water conservation, and it is often promoted as a promising alternative for modern farming as it is associated with substantially lower environmental impacts so these practices have already been applied in various demonstration plots in the district for the farmers to adopt the agro ecological farming practices.
